Saturday, August 10, 10:30 AM - 12:15 PM, Bethlehem/Randolph Campus, Fellowship Hall - In case you haven’t heard, Grace Church has a chess club that meets at our Bethlehem/Randolph campus! The King’s Chess Club normally meets in Fellowship Hall two Saturdays per month from 10:30 am until 12:15 pm, and is targeted at middle school and high school students (though there are no strict age limits). We play informal, unstructured chess for a little over an hour, then we break for pizza and, while everyone is eating, we have a chess lesson that we combine with a spiritual message. There is no charge for attending our meetings.
In addition to our regular club meetings, our club also runs tournaments three times per year that are officially sanctioned by the U.S. Chess Federation (so that participants receive official USCF ratings). Our meetings and events are advertised to the secular chess-playing world, and all kids and teenagers are welcome, regardless of their current religious beliefs, so attendees from Grace are encouraged to bring all of their chess-playing friends!
